About Master
Tinsmith James Glynn
|
| We started James Glynn Tinsmith in 1977, when I decided
to leave my New York banking job and turn a hobby into a full time
business. In 1994, my wife who is a quilter, joined me and uses
her precision to hand pierce the traditional designs in all of our
lanterns and nite lights. We have been featured in numerous publications
including the New York Times, Colonial Homes Magazine, Country Living
and Log Homes magazine. Early American Life magazine has listed
us among the top 200 craftsmen since 2001. |

What Sets Us Apart Our 'Honestly Handmade' lanterns, chandeliers and sconces
are exact reproductions. The exceptions are the folk art tin lighting
designs that have been created by us. We use only UL approved lighting
parts. All of the electric pieces have pure beeswax candle sleeves
and special candlelite bulbs to create the feeling of candlelight.
The ability to achieve the correct finish on a quality reproduction
cannot be overstated. Our finish of old pewter creates a patina
resembling 200 years of age and it will not rust. |
| Here is a short video of us at the Waterford
Fair, just outside Leesburg, VA. The sound is off, so you don't
have to adjust the volume.
